When I say singleness is a piece of cake, I’m not saying it’s easy. I’m saying it’s layered. And everyone has their own slice.
If I’m honest, some days I love being single. Other days, I don’t. Some days I’m full of hope. Other days, hope feels harder to hold onto. But through all of it, I’ve learned what it means to live fully where I am without letting go of what I still hope for.
That’s what this book is about: the ingredients I’ve gathered along the way for a life that doesn’t have to wait for a relationship status to change.

Why I Wrote This
I wrote the book I needed to read.
It was Valentine’s Day 2025, and I was driving home from Whole Foods with $1 oysters and everything I needed for a cozy dinner at home.
Valentine’s Day hadn’t always felt this peaceful, but this year was different. I wasn’t wondering or waiting around for a text. There were no expectations for someone to meet. I just felt peace.
I drove home smiling, genuinely looking forward to my oysters and a quiet night in, when a thought came to me. Singleness is a piece of cake.
In the weeks that followed, I couldn’t shake the thought. I kept coming back to it, and little by little, I began to understand what it meant.
Singleness is layered.
There’s joy and disappointment. Freedom and loneliness. Contentment and desire. There are things you’re learning about your standards, your purpose, your relationships, your faith, and yourself.
It felt like God was giving me language for things I had lived but never quite known how to explain.
